Player Progression

Context

Player Progression is the way a Player Character gets stronger and more capable. Each mission completed, enemy killed, location discovered, or loot box opened, earns the character an amount of experience (XP). Once the character has earned enough XP, the character automatically earns a new Game Level. Each new level brings new benefits to the character and allows the player to shape the character's starting talents as they see fit. Each new level earns the character some Talent Points (TP). Each TP earned can be assigned to any one of the twelve talents available in the game. Although, only four talents are available to start the game. Nine others unlock as TP is spent. Assigning a TP to a talent applies one rank to that talent. With enough talent ranks acquired, Perks are unlocked specific to that talent. Perks provide additional capabilities for the player and the player may have up to 4 perks available for use at one time. All perks have a cooldown feature. The higher tier the perk is, the more powerful it is. The cooldown on higher-tier perks is also longer.
